Phwew! It feels good when you have everything ready for Christmas doesn't it? I have finished wrapping and decorating and all we have to do now is the dreaded food shopping! I think we are going to get up really early this year (6am) to do ours as last year it was so busy it took us nearly an hour and a half just to get out of the supermarket car park! That was no fun I can tell you.
I always seem to leave my Husband's Christmas card until last (I think it's because I just don't like making male cards!) but I have now manage to make it using this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch.
It's a nice easy one for me this week as any male card I make always seems to have at least one star on it.
I used another of my favourite sets (I think I use this set more than any other) Seasons of Love Tags, I just love this star! I made this little pleated circle in the middle using a strip of paper and a scalloped border punch and topped it of with the sentiment which is from the same set.
The papers are a mish mash of scraps I had lying around. I couldn't resist adding a little beige seam binding bow from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop which is a bit feminine I suppose so I tried to 'man' the card up a bit with a row of copper brads. Do you think it is masculine enough?

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous.
I love all the different type of script paper you have used too.
Gorgeous colours and great take on the sketch. I am sure your hubby will love it!
Good luck with the shopping .. .. though if your local stores are anything like ours it doesn't look like the poor shop workers are going to get much of a break!!
Thank you for sharing such a lovely make in the snippet playground this week.
Love Jules xx
I don't think the ribbon makes this at all feminine. I really like the colour, subtle and elegant. Love the star with sentiment - just lovely. I'm sure your husband will love this card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - every element is perfect, and it's absolutely great for a chap! I haven't started on my OH's yet, it's so true about leaving it until the very last! Hope the supermarket run goes well :) Di xx

ReplyDeleteSarah, your star card makes the perfect man card and that addition of metal makes it very masculine looking. Nicely done! So glad to see your entry at the Crafts and Me digi team's "Christmas" challenge. ~ Rose
