Birthday Wishes

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my youngest Daughter  Leah for her 18th Birthday which was on Monday. I have to say it does feel strange knowing that my baby girl is now an adult.  She will be off to University later in the year so I am making the most of our time together at the moment.

Leah likes cards with a shabby feel to them, and especially loves anything made with kraft card. So I tried to incorporate these into her card.

 I used MME papers (I just love all the Lost and Found Collections) and a Waltzingmouse stamp for the tag. This stamp is from one of my very favourite sets - Very Vintage Christmas and it always looks great embossed in white on kraft card.  I used some little alpha stickers for the tag and embellished with some white seam binding, a crochet flower and a fabric covered brad.  the 'daughter 'stamp is also from Waltzingmouse - Roses in Bloom set.  Lastly I dotted a few pink flat backed pearls about.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Deep Ocean challenge - Pink and Brown
 Moving along with the Times - Lots of Layers
Allsorts challenge - It's your Choice (anything goes)
Stampin for the Weekend - Bingo ( ribbon/bows, pearls, pink)

Thanks so much for popping by my sadly neglected blog!

It's Sketch time......

I've been seriously lacking in the inspiration department since Christmas time, so I always find a sketch useful to get me crafting again. My favourite sketches are always on the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge blog, they are very easy to use. So I made a little card using this weeks sketch;

I really love this little sketch it was so easy to put together a card using it.  I used MME Lost and Found papers, and used Very Vintage Labels 4 stamp set to make a tag and then decorated it with a rose from Roses in Bloom set. The sentiment is from Fancy Phrases.

 I added a seam binding bow and rose, and a couple of dew drops in aqua to finish off with. This made a nice change from my usual  square cards.

Thanks for stopping by my little neglected blog!

Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Challenge #7 -ANYTHING GOES

Brrrrrr !! It's cold outside this morning! We had  a lot of snow here on Saturday night and Sunday morning and we are still snowed in at the moment. still it's nice and warm inside.

Today is new challenge day over at The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Blog and it's a nice easy one for February;-

Anything Goes

I need to build up my stock of cards for the next few months as I have lots of Birthdays coming up so I decided to make a Birthday card for the challenge.  I used more MME Lost and Found papers I just love these collections they are so versatile and pretty. The roses are made of seam binding just loosely twisted into a rose shape ( I have a bit of an obsession with making these at the moment).

I used some satin leaf trim in white to embellish the flowers with and some rose silky crush ribbon behind the sentiment.  The line of pink pearls just finishes off the card I think.

Pop over to the BLOG and have a look at what the rest of the team have made this month their creations are always so inspiring, perhaps you'll be inspired to join in with the challenge too. As always there is a prize on offer.

Thanks for visiting and if you have to brave this weather wrap up warm!

Stitching.....

I've beem AWOL again! Things have been hectic here as we had a new arrival in our household this week - a gorgeous puppy called Rufus!! He is adorable but very time consuming at the moment and I am struggling to do any crafting at all.

I have managed a card for this week's challenge at Craft Your Days Away as I have very kindly been asked to be a Guest Designer for this weeks challenge which is  Stitching (Real or Faux)
Sponsored this week by the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop the prize is some gorgeous bundles of Seam binding in five different colours.

A perfect challenge for me as I love using my sewing machine on my cards!

I made a Birthday card using some really pretty new papers I bought from MME Lost and Found collection -Madison Avenue. I used  sentiment stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps - Say it Loud set.

I decided to try and make some roses from seam binding and I have to say I am really pleased with how they turned out, I used some pearl beads from an old bracelet my daughter didn't want anymore and then just loosley twisted the rose pink seam binding into a rose shape securing with the odd stitch as I went. These were really quick to make and used hardly any seam binding for each rose, and also very inexpensive.  I'll definitely be making more of these.

I finished off with a double length of  pink divine baker's twine and a few rose dew drops and of course the required stitching!

Why not pop over and see see the Design team's fabulous samples, you might be inspired to join in with the challenge - remember the stitching can also be faux so you don't need to have a sewing machine. Or maybe try a bit of handstitching?

Thanks so much for popping by, I'll be back with another challenge card soon.
