Long Time - No Blog !!....

Gosh I am being a bad bad blogger aren't I?  I'm not going to make lots of excuses I just haven't had much inspiration since the Festive break to be honest. I've been busy buying lots of new ribbon for the shop and photographing it all and popping it onto the shop website.  I am going to try and start making a few samples up with the new ribbon which I am sure will get me inspired again.

I have made a card today using the Waltzingmouse Sketch.  I have decided to try and make a few cards that are not too bulky as the postage costs are just so high now for all my handmade cards.  That is a challenge in itself I can tell you!! No bows (boo!!), no buttons (boo!!) and minimal embellishments!  I don't think I will manage for long before I revert back to thicker cards!!

This card is actually quite flat and was very quick to put together. I used Bo Bunny 'Gabrielle' paper and cut a tag using Nestibilities Fancy Tags. I love this particular tag and use it a lot. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse - Fancy Tags which is another favourite of mine.  I used a length of ivory button twine and also some of this gorgeous Aqua cotton ribbon  it comes in some really beautiful colours, I can't wait to try them all.

I'm entering this card into a couple of other challenges;

Stampalot challenge - Monochromatic
Moving Along with the times - Things with Wings

Happy New Year!!.....

Good Morning everyone and I'd like to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

I'm starting with our very first challenge of the New Year at the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Blog, this month Peet chose the challenge;

Be My Valentine..

A very nice change from all those Christmas cards we have all been making! So now I am swapping snowflakes for hearts.

The prize this month is a package of gorgeous vintage style seam binding

Her is my card for the challenge

I decided not to use the traditional  colours associated wth Valentines Day and instead used browns and creams with gold.   The heart is my much used stamp from Waltzingmouse - Seasons of Love set which I embossed in gold with a sentiment from the same set. I added some sheer elegance ribbon in pearl to the heart

.

I layered this onto a doily (still my favourite crafting item!)  and behind this I used a strip of Champagne Wired silky crushy ribbon.
The papers are MME - Lost and Found BLUSH and I finished off with a few self adhesive pearls in Ivory.

Why not pop over and join us for this month's challenge and get ahead with your Valentine's Day cards? We'd love to see your creations.
